An Everyman production of some of Chekhov's best loved work.
Presented and produced by the Everyman, “Matched, Every Man’s Guide to Campaigns of the Heart” by Ger FitzGibbon will shake away the January blues! Inspired by Chekhov’s much loved one-act comedies “The Bear” and “The Proposal”, “Matched” is a light hearted, and entertaining, look at one woman’s trials in trying to find (and hold on to!) a husband.
Set in one of Ireland’s Big Houses in the early part of the 20th century, audiences can look forward to a night of comical misunderstandings involving debts, duels, land, livestock and love! “Matched” opens on Wednesday, January 14th and runs until Saturday, January 24th, 8pm (excl Sun 18th).
Natalie, a slightly desperate heiress, is eager to marry Nicholas, if they can only stop fighting long enough for him to propose; Henry, a retired officer of the Hussars, has no intention of flirting with anyone, let alone falling in love or marrying. But, as the best tee-shirts say, “stuff happens”. The outcome is a post-Christmas double dessert designed to delight.
This hugely entertaining comedy is designed to take the sting out of the mid-January slump: no better way to kick off the New Year than with a good old laugh!
