Brokentalkers returns with another must-see production

A real-life mother and son take a brave, unflinching look at their past and attempt to piece together the truth in the aftermath of a family tragedy.

Breaking all theatrical conventions, Brokentalkers’ Feidlim Cannon and his mother Ann are joined onstage by their Dublin-based psychotherapist Erich Keller who guides them through an exploration of old memories, childhood recollections, and the different ways we can heal ourselves. Have I No Mouth is a moving and astonishingly unvarnished portrait of grief, and a celebration of the ever-changing relationship between a mother and son.

Have I No Mouth is a devised performance incorporating Brokentalkers’ trademark style of mixing documentary material with breathtaking theatricality, which has established them as one of most important theatre companies to emerge in Ireland in recent years.

Brokentalkers are an award-winning Dublin-based theatre company, with an international outlook. Since 2001, under the artistic directorship of Feidlim Cannon and Gary Keegan, Brokentalkers have built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most innovative and original theatre companies by making formally ambitious work that defies categorisation.
Brokentalkers devise, direct and produce original and accessible live performance. They seek to explore new forms that challenge traditional ideologies of text based theatre. The company’s working method is founded on a collaborative process that draws from the skills and experiences of a large and diverse group of contributors from different disciplines and backgrounds. Some are professional artists, performers, designers and writers and others are people who do not usually work in the theatre but who bring an authenticity to the work that is compelling.
Their work responds to the contemporary world of which they are part and use elements such as original writing, dance, classic texts, film, interviews, found materials and music to represent that world in performance.
The work of the company has been presented in a variety of spaces, ranging from theatres to public spaces, disused sites and the Internet.
To date, the company has presented work in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the USA.
